ICP/OC refers to a specific pregnancy induced liver condition in which the normal flow of bile is impaired in a pregnant woman's body resulting in severe itching and more rarely, jaundice. Overall, 1 to 2 pregnancies in 1000 is affected by ICP; however it complicates 1 in 200 pregnancies in the United Kingdom.
